"MADD Introduces Signature 5K Walk: Strides for Change"

In an ongoing effort to eliminate drunk driving, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has introduced its first 5K fundraiser, Strides for Change. The first event, held in Dallas on April 17, precedes five other nationwide walks, held throughout the year in San Diego, Houston, Sacramento, Albuquerque, Los Angeles and Orange County.

MADD states that 41 percent of all fatal crashes are alcohol-related, and that 500,000 people are injured in drunk driving accidents each year. The organization's efforts to reduce drunk-driving deaths have saved 200,000 lives since its inception in 1980.
