Two Arrests Made For Arson
Two men have been arrested in connection with church fires that occurred during the month of February.
At least 10 Baptist churches have been damaged or destroyed by fires throughout Alabama. During the pre-dawn hours, the doors of the churches were kicked in, and the fires were started inside.
The FBI have been investigating these acts of arson wondering if they should be considered hate crimes since Baptist is the predominant denomination in the region. While the attacks did not appear to be racially motivated since the majority of the Baptist church congregation is white, many are still unsure of what the true agenda was.
While a third suspect is still being sought, two white men from the Birmingham area, Ben Moseley and Russell Debusk are expected to appear in federal court.
