DNA Proves Man Innocent
Thomas Clifford McGowan was proved innocent of a crime he was charged for in 1985 by DNA testing.
His record will reportedly be cleared and he will be eligible for financial compensation in the state of Texas.
Not the First Wrongful Imprisonment in TX
McGowan is reportedly one of 18 men in Dallas County that have been wrongly convicted of a crime since 2001.
According to the Innocence Project, that is the highest number of wrongly accused prisoners in the country.
Thirty-two people have also been formally exonerated through DNA tests in the state of Texas, which also marks a national high.
