Hawaii recently passed a new DUI law to crack down on drunk drivers with a blood alcohol level of .15 or higher. The legal limit is still .08, but the new law states that DUI offenders with levels above .15 can have both their license and vehicle registration revoked for up to a year.
“Folks who are driving at .15, they shouldn’t even be behind the wheel at that point. They’re basically endangering everyone,” said Department of Transportation (DOT) spokesperson Scott Ishikawa.
