A jury decided that the death of Krystal Gould was an accident, not a crime, and exonerated the 29-year-old man charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide.
Gould, 30, suffered a fatal head injury when she was catapulted off the hood of Charles Foulkes’ car while “goofing off” in the parking lot of a bar. Foulkes was accused of causing the death of his friend.
Not Guilty
Mark Guetner, attorney for Foulkes, told the jury that what happened was a “freak accident” and the jury deliberated for approximately 6 ½ hours before returning a not-guilty verdict on each of the charges.
“It was a sad tragedy for both families and, unfortunately, nothing the court system can do can bring Krystal Gould back to her family. I believe the verdict was appropriate,” Guetner said.
