"Massachusetts DUI laws change in response to risk of losing federal highway funds"
Due to the possible loss of over $50 million from the federal government, the state House of Representatives voted unanimously to make Massachusetts DUI laws stricter. The house passed a “per se” law, currently the only state in the U.S. without a per se law, making permissible BAL of 0.8% or more proof of intoxication. The bill being sent to Senate for approval is expected to pass without problems.
