New Pennsylvania DUI laws
The governor of Pennsylvania has signed a new DUI law into effect on October 7, 2003 changing the blood alcohol limit from 0.10% to 0.08%. Had the new Pennsylvania DUI law not have passed the state would have lost nearly $12 million in federal highway funds in this year alone. The Pennsylvania DUI laws also include stricter action towards repeat offenders, doubling fines in some instances and mandating longer jail sentences. Pennsylvania DUI offenders driving with children in the car will also have harsher punishments and ignition locking systems will be installed in cars to prevent them from starting unless the driver is sober.
