Robbery Charges Filed After Man’s False Teeth Stolen
Felony robbery charges were filed against a 62-year-old Indiana man accused of stealing another man’s false teeth during a fight. The charges carry a two to eight year prison sentence.
In addition to the felony robbery charges, Robert Henry Stahl is also charged with misdemeanor battery charges. The charges stem from a fight Stahl had with Billie Townsend, 56.
The Allegations
According to Townsend’s police report, he went to a bar in late July to pay a debt he owed Stahl. The encounter escalated into a fight when Stahl asked him to go outside and then started punching him, Townsend told police.
Stahl allegedly snatched Townsend’s false teeth from his mouth when he put Townsend in a headlock.
“He said, ‘You ain’t getting these back,’” Townsend reported.
The charges against Stahl were filed Thursday, though he did not attend the hearing. The next hearing is scheduled for October 22. In the meantime, prosecutors have not issued an arrest warrant.
