Attorney general proposes new DUI program
The attorney general of South Dakota has proposed establishing programs to have repeat drunken drivers check in twice daily for Breathalyzer tests. By implementing this program, the attorney general believes South Dakota DUI inmates would be decreased. Failing the DUI tests will mean that the individuals will need to be sent to jail to finish their sentences. Critics of the South Dakota DUI proposal believes more treatment options should be made available to help reduce repeat offenders with successful treatment.
