$100M Suit Filed Against City of Chattanooga

A man from Chattanooga, Tennessee, who recently won a suit filed against the city, is now filing another suit in relation to racial discrimination.

The man was awarded in a settlement reached in the case of his false arrest in the city due to racial discrimination and he now claims the dropped charges are being falsely challenged.

Victim Goes to Court Once Again

Ronald Madden received $120,000 in a suit filed a year ago claiming he was discriminated against because of his race and falsely arrested.

However, only a day after the settlement was reached, Madden claims a number of police officers came to his house and arrested him once again for supposedly failing to appear in court in July of 2007.

Second False Arrest Has Many Baffled

Madden was reportedly handcuffed and taken to the police station where all charges were later dropped, for a second time.

According to Madden’s attorney, Randy Larramore, his client appeared in court numerous times in July of 2007.

“Mr. Madden received a speeding ticket after that, appeared in court on the speeding ticket, was in federal court through the motion process, throughout the trial and nobody ever mentioned one of these issues,” explains Larramore.

Madden’s current lawsuit claims the officers intentionally and willfully deprived him of his Constitutional rights including retaliation, false arrest, and false imprisonment.
